The University's Use of Alcoholic Beverages and Prohibition of Other Drugs Policy  (STU-001) regulates the sale and service of alcoholic beverages on University property and informs the University community of state and federal laws and penalties concerning substance use and abuse; health and behavioral risks of drug use; and resources for treatment and educational programming in accordance with Federal law. [Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations; 20 U.S.C. 1011i and 34 C.F.R. Section 86.100 (a) (1).]

Standards of Conduct

The Board of Visitors adopts the University of Virginia Standards of Student conduct which describe behavior generally prohibited to enrolled students. Each standard contains its own internal jurisdiction and several standards involve different jurisdictions for different clauses. The Standards of Conduct can only be revised or amended by the Board of Visitors. Access these Standards.
